Mr. Trystan Lewis B.A.(Aberystwyth). M.Mus.(L/pool)
took up his appointment as Arweinydd/Conductor
in September 2010.

Mae Trystan wedi ymwneud â chorau y rhan fwyaf o’i oes; arweiniodd Gôr Aelwyd Pantycelyn am ddwy flynedd gan ennill dwy flynedd ar y tro gyda Chôr Cymysg a Meibion yr Aelwyd hwnnw. Penodwyd ef yn arweinydd Côr Maelgwn wyth mlynedd yn ôl ac o dan ei faton, maent wedi ennill Cystadleuaeth y Sealink, Y Genedlaethol ddwywaith (2005 a 2009) a buont yn rownd derfynol Cystadleuaeth y BBC. Bu’n organydd yn y Tabernacl, Aberystwyth tra’n fyfyriwr ac mae’n canu’r organ yn achlysurol yn St John’s Llandudno ac yn gyson ym Methel a Pheniel, Deganwy. Mae wedi arwain bron i ddau gant o Gymanfaoedd Canu gan gynnwys Canada a Chymanfa Gogledd America yn ogystal â nifer o rai ar y teledu a’r radio. Mae galw arno fel unawdydd bâs-bariton, bu’n canu gyda Chymdeithas Gorawl Llanelli llynedd a gwahoddwyd ef yno eto eleni. Mae’n unawdydd cyson yng nghyngherddau St John’s Llandudno ac enillodd yr unawd Hen Ganiadau yn y Bala 2009. Mae’n feirniad cenedlaethol ac wedi beirniadu mewn bron i ddau gant o eisteddfodau. Enillodd ei radd gyntaf B.A. yn Aberystwyth ac enillodd radd M.Mus. llynedd o Brifysgol Lerpwl mewn Astudiaeth Llais a Harmoni a Gwrthbwynt. Ef yw arweinydd a sefydlydd Côr Cymysg Dyffryn conwy i berfformio cyfanweithiau gyda cherddorfa ac mae newydd gael ei benodi’n arweinydd Cymdeithas Gorawl yr Wyddgrug a’r cylch. Mae ef a’i wraig Llinos, yn cadw Siop Lyfrau Lewis yn Llandudno, sef siop lyfrau ail-law a newydd yn ogystal â siop goffi.
Trystan Lewis has been involved with music, and particularly choirs, for most of his life. He conducted Pantycelyn choir to two national wins whilst an undergraduate at the University of Wales at Aberystwyth. He was appointed Musical Director of the Maelgwn Male Voice Choir at 22 years of age and they have won the Sealink competition, the National Eisteddfod twice and were finalists in the BBC Choir Competition. Whilst at Aberystwyth he was organist of the Tabernacle, and is an organist at St John’s Llandudno and Bethel and Peniel, Deganwy. He has conducted over 200 Cymanfaoedd Canu singing festivals, including Canada and the North American Festival, as well as on television and radio. He is a busy bass-baritone. He sang with the Llanelli Choral Society in 2009 and has been invited again in 2010. He is also a regular soloist at the St. John’s concerts in Llandudno and he won the Open Welsh Solo at the National Eisteddfod in Bala in 2009. He is an adjudicator as well being Musical Director of Côr Cymysg Dyffryn Conwy, which he founded, and has conducted in performances with the North Wales Philharmonia Orchestra. His most recent appointment is Musical Director of the Mold Choral Society. He gained an M.Mus. degree from Liverpool University in 2009 in Voice Technique and Harmony and Counterpoint. Trystan and his wife Llinos run 'Lewis Bookshop' in Llandudno which specialises in new and second-hand books as well as having a coffee shop.
